Peace and Blessings to All !
This event is being sponsored by some folks that are relatively new to the
Houston Area. To Any of my students, past and present, I strongly advocate
supporting this class - there may not be too many chances this year to see and
participate in an experience within its proper context like this. All too often,
African Dance and Drum classes in America are merely exercises in mechanics. You
go up and down the floor, you move your hands up with a drum under them - but at
the end, or a week later, you are left wondering - just what is it that I have
learned???
I have attended a class with Moussa before and found him to be well - informed,
with a catalog of teaching techniques at his disposal that only could be
developed by someone who has both patience and a love for what they do. Many
great dancers and drummers lack the skill to be good transmitters of what they
have learned.
You will not be disappointed if you come to this class. I am sure with his
sister on board, it'll only be twice as good!
Don't forget to check Iya Oyabumni's (sponsor) website at the end !!!
