Greetings Josh and ALL,

A good place to start would be this page, entitled "Tips and Techniques For
Sewing Your Own Outdoor Gear"
<http://www.nextdim.com/users/pschwyn/tips.htm> they have a list of sources
as well and there is some overlap with the ones below.

My favorite djembe bag at this point is a military surplus duffel made of
green cordura style nylon with two padded back pack style straps. I have a
quilted djembe bag (Senegal) that I put inside for cushion plus a roll of
3.5 inch "sill seal" (a foam disc would work) on top of the head to protect
it and fill up the bag which is taller than my djembe, plus a kneel
pad/stadium seat goes in the bottom of the duffel to protect the pipe and I
use this to sit on if needed. The whole rig cost me less than 40$US and I
feel the drum to be very well protected from bumps and weather. Second best
is the one I got from Latin Percussion when I bought my LP goblet style drum
(the list price on this bag was 90$US at the time I bought it {1993}). You
might look to this one at your local drum shop for pointers in your
construction as it is made very well. It is in disfavor at the moment due to
it only having one shoulder strap.

I hope this Helps, R
