I have 6 yrs. exp., most of which I was working with Shorty Palmer of
Goatskins.com. My prices for reheading a djembe is $60 for basic rehead. To
rebuild a djembe is $85. That included redoing the ring ropes, bearing edge
work, re-oil inside and out,, tune. If the rope needs replacing that's 20 cent a ft.
I also work on Duns, ashiko's, conga's, any hand drum. I also sell djembe's,
hand pullers, rope, skins, drum hats made of mud cloth. I'm in Nokomis, fl. near

builder/repairer. He is meticulous and precise in his craft, he welds his own
rings out of cold rolled steel, he uses the highest quality Kevlar core rope,
conditions the wood, and, when needed, resizes your rings and reshapes the
bearing lip of the drum as if it were his own. He will tune your drum such that
it is tune WITHOUT any diamonds. The approximate time for a repair is 2 weeks.
