Joe has been playing for over 25 years. He plays Cuban, Brazilian, Haitian, Congolese, and West African styles of drumming.  Joe has also been the musical director of the Int'l African American Ballet, Forces of Nature and Dance Brazil dance companies, to name a few. He has studied with Papa Ladji Camara, among others, as well as being honored with an invitation to perform
in Liberia which he accepted and received high acclaim. Joe is known throughout the country for his own personal style and clean hand techniques.
He is currently a musical consultant for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for their Arts and Education program.  Joe would like to share the
music of West Africa through his teachings. Come and join the class, bring your tape recorder, learn some rhythms and have some fun. Perhaps you might meet and experience members of Joe's company, The Bambara Drumming Society (known throughout the East Coast.) He looks forward to seeing you there!
