SANTA BARBARA

Saturdays, beginning about 5 pm to Sundown every week.
Gather on the strip of grass on the ocean side of Cabrillo Blvd.,
across from Chase Palm Park.
Everyone's welcome. People dance, tourists shoot video and drummer groove.   The group has to pay the City a permit fee of $29/wk to play drums in a park and so we pass a hat to collect donations to pay the permit.   When daylight savings time goes
into effect, the circle starts an hour earlier, around 4 pm.
  This circle
used to be on Sundays.  It's been going for at least 10 years.  I've seen
anywhere between 15 to 40 people drumming.  With dancers and other people
that hang around, there's usually quite a good sized crowd there.

STANFORD

Every Friday from 7-10 PM

Come to the New Guinea Sculpture Garden to drum, dance, and sing.   This is a beautiful, sacred place very conducive to good vibes.  The circle meets during the warm months, usually May through October.
Everyone is welcome.
Please pass this invitation on to other drummers and dancers. Also, if you or they would like to be added to the local drumming email list, send a message to me.
Future messages will be sent there.
Yours in rhythm,

Steve Rice

The extravagant rhythms of the Venice Beach Drumcircle have been captured so well that the CD seems to almost exude salt air and other sensations of the beach as well as the beautifully complex rhythms of the drummers. Check it out a bit go to our website at www.crazybeach.com and then go to the Drumcircle website at www.venicebeachdrumcircle.com .

Notes:
This is an open to the public drum jam (Most attendees sit on large steps vs a circle..) and includes afro-cuban and african inspired rhythms. Ongoing for many years, expect a wide range of interesting and unique guests, instruments and onlookers - it can rock and is worth going to! Usually goes till Sunset.
