Women's Open Drum Jam
2nd & 4th Thursdays

7:00PM - 9:00PM
J. Thomas Community Ctr.

Our semi-monthly drum jams have now moved to the 2nd and 4th
Thursday of each month.
We are meeting at the John Thomas
Community Center on the corner of Brown and Reagan in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas.  The jam is open to all women regardless of skill level.  Newcomers are welcome and you do not need a drum to play, there are usually a few extra drums and lots of
percussion to play.  There is a $5 donation for the rental on
the room.  Join us for a fun evening of drumming.
   Contact Susan for more info

1st Thursday of each month in Ft. Worth (hosted by Spoon Fed Tribe).
Held in the Ridgleh Theater, on Camp Bowie - the cover is $3.00 each.

TCU (Texas Christian University) at The Fountains ............ a community drumcircle will be held, 9 -12 pm, with plenty of free parking.

Here's how to get there from Dallas:
I-30 West to University Exit.  RT on S. University, go past the Zoo, The 2nd Right, Cantey, at the Top of Hill, turn RT,  pay attention and at the 1st *REAL* LEFT.  Follow the road to The Fountains.  If you think you are lost, ask anyone.  You'll be on the TCU Campus at 2200 S. University Drive.

Additions to the directions to the Thurs Drum Circle at TCU:  the name of
the street at the top of the hill that you turn right onto from University Drive is Cantey.  When turning left to the Fountains, realize that you are circling the fountain and its park. The fountain is not turned on right now
and resembles 4 fluted horns on end, trumpeting toward the sky. This was
confusing, but we found the students on campus helpful. There was a small
group of 13 last night, 3 experienced from other drum jams who saw this ad and 10 brand new to drumming from the campus, some just walking up to see what was going on.  Please come out and join these enthusiastic folks.
Don't expect any dancing (yet...we'll be working on that.) This is TCU,
after all. Bring a chair, bottle of water or soda for yourself.  Restrooms
are a little walk away. Very nice park setting.  Hope to see you next Thurs.
